RE

At Padnell Junior we strive to provide an enriching and knowledge-rich Religious Education (RE) curriculum that empowers our students to thrive in a diverse society and a global world. We firmly believe that teaching RE to the highest standards is essential to enable our pupils to understand and respect the different beliefs and cultures they will encounter in their daily lives.

We use Living Difference IV, the agreed syllabus for Hampshire, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, to teach RE. Each unit of work is a cycle of enquiry and uses the following stages, communicate, apply, inquire, evaluate and contextualise to understand the topic or theme taught. Pupils have the opportunity to study Christian traditions as well as religious traditions from at least two other religions.
