At Padnell Junior we aim for our history curriculum to inspire pupils' curiosity and encourage them to ask questions about the past. Pupils have the opportunity to study British, local and world history and through these units will develop a secure understanding of chronology and have opportunities to develop the correct use of historical terms. By using a key question at the start of the unit, pupils are able look at a range of sources, investigate the time studied, identify connections or similarities and differences with other times and form their own opinions. We use trips, visitors, fiction and non-fiction books and artefacts to bring the subject to life.
